At a crucial moment for Arizona and the political landscape of the United States, Kari Lake, a staunch advocate of the America First movement, has captured the attention of both conservative and moderate voters.
In a recent interview with our Editor-in-Chief, María Herrera, Lake addressed issues that deeply affect Arizona’s Hispanic community, as well as all citizens of the state, ranging from the border crisis to the impact of economic and national security policies.
The former journalist and U.S. Senate candidate spoke candidly about the current challenges and the future she envisions for Arizona and the nation.
The Border Crisis and Its Impact on Families
One of the highlights of the interview was Kari Lake’s concern about the situation at the southern U.S. border, which she described as “completely open.” Lake harshly criticized the policies of her Senate opponent, Rubén Gallego, arguing that his decisions have endangered both the safety of children and the economic stability of families in Arizona.
“We have convicted criminals entering without being screened, and this directly impacts the safety of our children,” Lake emphasized. She noted that families no longer feel safe letting their children play in their own yards due to rising crime, a situation she directly links to the Biden-Harris administration’s open border policies, which Gallego supports.
Lake also touched on economic issues, asserting that many families are being forced, for the first time, to rely on food banks due to the rising cost of living. “The open border and amnesty policies of Rubén Gallego and Kamala Harris are destroying Arizona’s economy,” she stated.
Lake argues that allowing millions of people who have entered illegally to gain citizenship and the right to vote is not only a threat to national security but also to the local economy.
A Government Arming Itself Against Its Own People?
When asked if the United States was beginning to resemble countries like Cuba, Venezuela, or Nicaragua in terms of political persecution, Kari Lake did not hesitate in her response. “It’s terrifying,” she said.
Lake explained that she never imagined seeing the U.S. government arming itself against its own people, citing the multiple charges and legal pursuits against former President Donald Trump as an example.
“The Biden-Harris administration is targeting its political opponents just like authoritarian regimes do,” she said.
Lake considers herself another victim of what she calls “lawfare,” pointing out that her fight against the corrupt system has made her a constant target. However, she emphasized that the Hispanic community, many of whose members or ancestors have lived under dictatorships, understands better than anyone what is happening in the United States.
This, she claimed, has led to a massive movement of Hispanic voters abandoning the Democratic Party in favor of the America First movement and Trump’s Republican Party.
The Decline of Mainstream Journalism
As a former journalist, Kari Lake also shared her perspective on the current state of journalism in the U.S.
She stated that mainstream journalism has largely died due to large corporations controlling the media, which she claims have an agenda to bring down both the America First movement and President Trump.
“I’m not saying that all journalism is dead,” she clarified. “We are seeing a resurgence of true journalism through independent platforms.” Lake praised the role of these new media outlets as trusted sources for those seeking the truth, free from the narratives controlled by the mainstream media. “Independent journalists are doing an incredible job of bringing to light what the corporate media tries to hide,” she added.
Elections and Trust in the Electoral System
Regarding the 2020 and 2022 elections, Lake expressed skepticism about whether the issues surrounding those elections have been resolved. To her, electoral integrity is a crucial issue, and she suggests that urgent reforms are needed to prevent fraud.
“My opponent voted against reforms that would ensure only legal citizens can vote, which shows his lack of commitment to fair elections,” she pointed out.
Lake also criticized the practice of prolonging voting and counting ballots for weeks, asserting that “the American people have had enough of poorly managed elections.”
According to Lake, ensuring that only legal votes are counted is essential to restoring trust in the electoral system. “Whether you’re the most liberal Democrat or the most conservative Republican, I want your vote to count, but I don’t want fraudulent ballots or illegal votes being counted,” she emphasized.
The Environmental Future of Arizona
When discussing environmental policies, Kari Lake proposed bringing back manufacturing to Arizona as a solution for both the economy and the environment. “By manufacturing in countries like China and India, which don’t follow the same environmental standards, we’re harming both our planet and our economy,” she said.
Lake also mentioned water desalination, a method successfully used by Israel, as a viable solution to water issues in the western United States. “We can’t keep postponing this issue,” she warned, calling for a prioritization of the state’s essential resources.
Kari Lake has positioned herself as a candidate unafraid to challenge the status quo, with a clear focus on border security, electoral integrity, and the well-being of Arizona’s families.
Her message resonates particularly with Hispanic voters, who have experienced firsthand what it means to live under tyrannical regimes. Her commitment to the America First movement and her determination to restore traditional values in the United States make her a key figure in Arizona’s political future.
As the upcoming elections approach, it is clear that Kari Lake’s role will be crucial in determining the direction Arizona will take. Whether discussing security, the economy, or electoral integrity, Lake is not only offering solutions but also leading a fight that many consider vital for the future of the country. Now, the big question is whether Arizona is ready for this change.
