Donald Trump: We are going to destroy every Venezuelan drug-trafficking terrorist

Trump vows to strike drug-trafficking networks linked to Maduro from the UN podium

From the United Nations General Assembly, President Donald Trump delivered a harsh message against the drug-trafficking networks that, he said, operate from Venezuela under the leadership of Nicolás Maduro. In a passage of his speech, Trump asserted that the United States has begun to employ “the supreme power of the military” to “destroy the terrorists of Venezuela and the drug-trafficking networks led by Nicolás Maduro.”

“To every terrorist thug who traffics poisonous drugs into the United States of America, please be warned that we will wipe you out of existence. That is what we are doing,” the president declared, justifying the actions as a necessary measure to curb the flow of narcotics and protect the American public. “We have no choice. We cannot let it happen,” he added.

Trump framed the operation as a military and security response to a transnational threat. The fight against drug trafficking and what he described as “terrorism” justifies a determined use of force to dismantle networks that are sending lethal substances into the United States.
