Elon Musk responds to Tim Walz’s celebration of Tesla attacks

Elon Musk Fires Back at Tim Walz for Celebrating Tesla’s Stock Plunge: «How Perverse»

In a fiery response, Elon Musk slammed Minnesota Governor Tim Walz after the politician publicly cheered Tesla’s plummeting stock price. Musk’s outburst highlights the escalating tension between the Tesla CEO and certain political leaders as the company faces mounting challenges.

«Who Finds Joy in a Company’s Destruction?»
During a recent speech, Walz took the stage waving charts of Tesla’s nosediving stock, treating it as some kind of political victory. Musk didn’t hold back, calling the governor a «giant idiot» and «perverse,» questioning his ethics as a leader:

«You see Tim Walz—a giant idiot—running around the stage with Tesla’s stock price, showing how it got cut in half. And he was delighted. How perverse is that? Who finds joy in that?»

Musk also pointed out the irony that Minnesota’s state pension fund is a major Tesla investor, meaning the state itself is harmed by the company’s decline. «He didn’t care. He was so happy Tesla stock got cut in half,» Musk added.

Tesla Under Fire: Political Sabotage or Plain Hostility?
Beyond Walz, Musk denounced a broader climate of hostility against Tesla, both in the U.S. and Europe:

Vandalized dealerships

Customers being harassed

Smear campaigns

«Do you think it helps sales if dealerships are getting bombed? Of course not. And Tesla customers are being intimidated everywhere,» Musk said.

The Paradox of Politicians Who Hate Tesla but Rely on Its Success
One of Musk’s sharpest critiques was reminding the public that many government funds, including state pensions, depend on Tesla’s performance. Yet politicians like Walz seem to revel in its decline, even if it hurts their own constituents.

«Businesses are suffering because I’m in government,» Musk said, suggesting a political agenda behind these attacks.

Reactions: Is Musk Right or Overreacting?
The response has been split:

Musk supporters argue politicians shouldn’t celebrate the downfall of a company that employs thousands and drives innovation.

Critics accuse Musk of playing the victim to distract from Tesla’s recent struggles.

What do you think? Is Musk’s anger justified, or is this a deflection tactic?
