Newsom: El peor gobernante de Estados Unidos, según las cifras

Gavin Newsom ha sido presentado por algunos sectores de la izquierda como un “modelo progresista a seguir”, un posible futuro presidente y un defensor de las minorías. Pero más allá de su retórica elaborada y sus sesiones fotográficas haciendo tortillas para ganarse el voto hispano, los datos no mienten. Y los datos lo colocan, objetivamente, como uno de los peores gobernantes de los Estados Unidos en la actualidad.

Desde que asumió la gobernación de California en 2018, el estado más poblado del país ha enfrentado una decadencia constante. California, que representa aproximadamente el 11% de la población total del país, concentra más del 28% de todos los indigentes de la nación. Es decir, más de uno de cada cuatro estadounidenses sin hogar vive bajo su mandato. Ningún otro estado tiene semejante desequilibrio. Este no es un fallo circunstancial, es el resultado de políticas mal diseñadas, permisivas, sin consecuencias y profundamente desconectadas de la realidad de las familias trabajadoras.

El desempleo también ha alcanzado niveles alarmantes. Mientras estados gobernados por líderes republicanos como Florida o Texas continúan generando empleos y atrayendo inversiones, California se ha convertido en un modelo de cómo alejar empresas, destruir la clase media y sobrecargar al contribuyente con regulaciones absurdas y altos impuestos. No es coincidencia que California ostente la tasa de desempleo más alta de toda la nación.

La inseguridad también ha escalado. Entre 2018 y 2023, el crimen violento aumentó un 15.1%. Esta cifra pone en evidencia el fracaso de una agenda que prioriza al criminal sobre la víctima, que desfinancia a la policía mientras fortalece programas ideológicos que no ofrecen soluciones reales. Las grandes ciudades californianas como Los Ángeles, San Francisco y Oakland se han convertido en zonas donde el delito, el fentanilo y la indigencia conviven a plena luz del día.

Ante esta decadencia progresiva, los ciudadanos han comenzado a huir. California encabeza la lista de los estados con mayor pérdida neta de población. Más de medio millón de personas han abandonado el “estado dorado” en busca de un futuro mejor en estados como Texas, Florida o Carolina del Norte, donde el respeto por la libertad económica, la ley y el orden siguen vigentes.

Y sin embargo, a pesar de este historial desastroso, hay quienes insisten en promocionar a Newsom como un presidenciable. ¿Por qué? En muchos casos, simplemente porque es un rostro joven, fotogénico y sabe posar haciendo tortillas para las cámaras. En un clima político dominado por la imagen y no por los resultados, el marketing muchas veces supera a la realidad. Pero los hispanos, especialmente los que han venido a este país buscando oportunidades, no deberían dejarse engañar por gestos vacíos.

El verdadero liderazgo se mide en resultados, no en gestos simbólicos. Y los resultados de Newsom son nefastos. Basta ya de aplaudir fracasos maquillados de progresismo. Estados Unidos merece líderes que trabajen por la prosperidad, la seguridad y la libertad de todos, no políticos que destruyen sus estados mientras se preparan para escalar a la Casa Blanca.

The system that allows jobs like this, without proper conditions or recognition, is the same one many progressives prefer to ignore. Instead of focusing on improving these realities with common sense and hard work, much of the global elite prefers to push ideology, promote subsidies, victim narratives, and empty speeches that do nothing for the real working class.  The radical left talks about social justice, but rarely highlights people like this woman. Where are the NGOs? Where is the mainstream media? Where is the outrage from celebrities who scream about climate change but say nothing about the labor conditions of those who actually work with the land?  A healthy society must once again value real effort, hard work, and individual responsibility. This woman doesn’t need a virtual applause — she needs real opportunities: local development, productive investment, and a free economy that allows citizens to prosper without depending on crumbs from the state.  It’s time to stop glorifying the resentment of those who have everything and still feel like victims, and start recognizing the bravery of those who have nothing but give it their all.
