Hayley Caronia Exposes Jimmy Kimmel: Hollywood Comedian Hits a Dangerous New Low with Inflammatory Rhetoric
Conservative commentator Hayley Caronia has exposed the depth of the pit into which the Hollywood media elite, in today’s case embodied by television host Jimmy Kimmel, has fallen. In a despicable and somewhat cringe-inducing segment, Kimmel not only rushed to make jokes about a tragic incident in Minneapolis involving an ICE agent but crossed the most dangerous line by directly and promiscuously insinuating that President Donald J. Trump is a murderer, using the defamatory slogan «Donald J. Trump is going to kill you.» This cannot be tolerated under the excuse of political humor; this is incitement to violence disguised as a monologue, and represents a new low in the left’s desperate campaign to demonize its political opponents.
Kimmel chose to completely ignore the fundamental facts of the incident to serve a pre-digested narrative of hatred. As Caronia pointed out, the ICE agent acted in a context of legitimate self-defense and fear for his life, when a motorist, after obstructing the operation, reversed and then advanced forcefully while one officer was hanging from the vehicle and another was in front of it. This is a high-risk situation where agents must make decisions in split seconds to protect their own lives and those of their colleagues. Instead of sober analysis, Kimmel transformed this complex situation into a stage for tasteless comedy and a direct attack on the President of the United States, blaming him directly for the death.
As Caronia denounces, Kimmel is not interested in truth, justice, or context. He is thinking solely about «the attention, the views, the clicks, and the confrontation with the president.» In his pathetic quest for ratings and relevance in an increasingly competitive media landscape, he is willing to fan the flames of hatred and division. Most gravely, he does not think «about how dangerous the leftists are and what they will do when they see that shirt, and when they hear that rhetoric.» And this is no longer a hypothetical concern. Recent history is rife with examples of individuals radicalized by this kind of language who have turned to violent action, from the attempted assassination of Congressman Steve Scalise to the attack on the Republican baseball players. Kimmel is playing with fire in a powder keg, and he does it from the safety of his air-conditioned studio.
Caronia also pointed to the complicity of the ABC network in this shameful spectacle as one more stain on the already eroded credibility of the mainstream media. As Caronia notes, «If the network had an ounce of journalistic integrity, it would denounce and take disciplinary action for this segment. But they don’t have it, and they won’t.»
