Hezbollah launches 100 rockets into northern Israel, raising regional tensions (VIDEO)

The militant group Hezbollah launched approximately 100 rockets into northern Israel, in a new episode of violence that has heightened tensions along the border with Lebanon.

According to initial reports, air raid sirens were activated in several cities in northern Israel as the country’s air defense systems attempted to intercept some of the incoming projectiles. Israeli authorities said the attack forced thousands of residents to seek shelter in bunkers and protected areas.

The massive rocket barrage comes amid an already volatile regional situation and once again places Hezbollah—an organization backed by Iran and designated as a terrorist group by several Western countries—at the center of the conflict.

Security analysts warn that attacks of this scale could trigger a military response from Israel, increasing the risk of a broader escalation in the region. Northern Israel has experienced frequent exchanges of fire in recent years, particularly amid tensions between Israel and Iran-backed militias.

Israeli authorities have reiterated that they will respond firmly to any aggression that endangers their population, while the international community watches with growing concern over the possibility that the conflict could expand across the Middle East.
