Journalist Steve Sweeney Survives Rocket Impact During War Zone Coverage (VIDEO)

Journalist Steve Sweeney experienced moments of real danger while reporting from one of the most tense areas in the Middle East, after a rocket struck just meters from his position, leaving both him and his cameraman with minor injuries.

The incident occurred as Sweeney was reporting in real time on a series of cross-border attacks along the Israel–Lebanon border. In his report, he detailed that the Al Marj outpost, located opposite Markaba, had launched drone strikes on the Al Rahab site near Ayta ash-Shaab. He also warned of new rocket launches directed toward northern Israel, specifically the city of Nahariya.

Seconds after saying the phrase “and a minute later…,” the broadcast was abruptly interrupted by a powerful explosion. The rocket impact, captured on video, revealed how close the strike was and the imminent danger faced by journalists on the ground. The deafening sound and shockwave caused momentary chaos, forcing the crew to seek immediate cover.

Despite the dramatic moment, it was confirmed that both Sweeney and his cameraman sustained only minor injuries, which has been considered almost miraculous given the circumstances. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of international correspondents, who are often on the front lines of conflict without real guarantees of protection.

This episode also reflects the growing intensity of clashes in the region, with attacks increasingly occurring near areas where both civilians and media operate. The situation continues to deteriorate, raising the risk of a broader escalation that could involve more international actors in an already highly volatile conflict.
