White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed a series of “shocking” new findings on Wednesday, linking former President Barack Obama and top officials from his administration to an alleged plot aimed at sabotaging Donald Trump’s 2016 election victory and disrupting the peaceful transfer of power.
Speaking at a press briefing alongside Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, Leavitt stated that the recently declassified evidence confirms what many had long suspected: that the so-called “Russia collusion” narrative was a political fabrication orchestrated by senior officials in the outgoing Obama administration.
“While pretending to support a peaceful transition, President Obama and his closest aides were, in private, carrying out nefarious efforts to divide the country and sabotage President Trump before he even took office,” Leavitt declared.
According to Gabbard’s report, intelligence officials under the Obama administration allegedly manipulated classified information to justify baseless accusations against Trump. This material was then strategically leaked to the media, fueling a years-long narrative that Trump’s victory was tainted by foreign interference.
Leavitt emphasized that “the Obama administration manufactured politicized intelligence that was later used to smear President Trump in an attempt to delegitimize his electoral win.”
The documents directly implicate high-profile officials, including former CIA Director John Brennan, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, former FBI Director James Comey, and former Deputy Director Andrew McCabe. All were allegedly aware of the falsehoods behind the collusion claims but actively promoted them nonetheless.
“The American people were victims of a massive fraud, a political operation run by those who were supposed to defend democracy,” Leavitt said.
Leavitt stressed that after years of investigations and media frenzy, it is now confirmed that “President Trump never had anything to do with Russia,” and that the entire collusion theory was “an outrageous lie.”
She described the plot as “one of the greatest betrayals of the democratic will of the American people in modern history.”
Leavitt also praised President Trump’s unwavering commitment to transparency and justice, and commended Tulsi Gabbard for her “courage and integrity in speaking the truth, even after decades of institutional manipulation.”
The White House is calling for legal and political consequences for those responsible. “We cannot allow senior officials to weaponize the state against political opponents,” Leavitt stated.
She added that the Republican-led Congress is expected to launch formal investigations into the crimes allegedly committed during the 2016 transition.
To Leavitt, this episode not only exposes deep institutional corruption, but also underscores the urgent need for reform across the intelligence community and oversight mechanisms.
“The people deserve the truth. And today, the truth has come to light,” she concluded.
