Legal Immigration Under Attack: The Response of a Citizen Who Followed the Process (VIDEO)

Amid a tense discussion on immigration, a U.S. citizen of Israeli origin responded to a series of questions aimed at challenging his stance and casting doubt on his moral authority to speak on the issue. Far from avoiding the debate, he made it clear that he was speaking from personal experience, not from theory.

In response to attempts to make him look bad, he explained that he arrived in the United States as a child, always legally, under a visa, and that both he and his family complied with every requirement demanded by the immigration system. Forms, oaths, procedures, and years of waiting were all part of the process—without exceptions or shortcuts. “There was no line to cut,” he emphasized, directly addressing those who justify illegal immigration as an inevitable necessity.

The central point of his response was clear: if his family was able to wait and follow the law, he does not understand why today there is an effort to normalize others bypassing that same process. He also clarified that he was not fleeing persecution in his country of origin, which is why he accepted that the correct path was due process, no matter how long it took.

One of the most forceful moments came when he recounted that even when a visa expired, he chose to leave the country immediately. For him, respecting the United States meant abiding by its rules, especially when it was offering him an opportunity. He noted that this stance stands in contrast to narratives that seek to portray as victims those who deliberately ignore the law.

His response concluded with a personal and emotional message: becoming a U.S. citizen after more than two decades in the country was one of the most important days of his life, second only to the birth of his children. An achievement that, he stressed, had value precisely because it was earned through patience, sacrifice, and respect for the rule of law.

Rather than being discredited, his intervention exposed an uncomfortable contradiction in today’s immigration debate: while some seek to undermine those who demand legality, it is precisely legal immigrants who best understand the real cost of following the rules.
