Marco Rubio warns Venezuelan exodus is a regional threat (VIDEO)

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has stated that the Venezuelan migration crisis represents one of the greatest geopolitical challenges in Latin America today, highlighting the unprecedented scale of the exodus in recent years.

According to Rubio, around eight million people have left Venezuela since 2014, making it one of the largest migration movements in modern history.

The official attributes this phenomenon to the government of Nicolás Maduro, arguing that the country’s wealth has not benefited its population but has instead been concentrated within the political leadership, pushing millions to leave in search of better living conditions.

Rubio also warned that this migration flow has direct consequences for regional stability. Countries such as Brazil and Colombia have expressed concern about the possibility of new migration waves, which could increase pressure on their economic and social systems.

In this context, the Secretary of State emphasized that the magnitude of the exodus cannot be viewed as an isolated phenomenon, but rather as a destabilizing factor for the entire region. From the perspective of the administration of President Donald Trump, this situation requires a firm response to prevent the crisis from continuing to expand and affecting more countries in the hemisphere.

Rubio’s statements reflect a view in which mass migration is not only a humanitarian issue, but also a strategic matter that directly impacts security, economic stability, and the political balance across Latin America.
