Megyn Kelly on Mark Levin’s ‘sick’ comments against the rosary and the Catholic faith

Megyn Kelly Denounces Mark Levin’s ‘Sick’ Attacks Against the Rosary and Faithful Catholics

Host Megyn Kelly stepped forward to firmly defend the Catholic faith in the face of comments from Mark Levin. During a segment of her program, Kelly detailed how Levin labeled Catholics who pray the Rosary as «crazy» and «nuts,» further suggesting that this Marian devotion makes them an «easy target» and, even more scandalously, equates them with the so-called «woke Reich» and even accuses them of antisemitism. For Kelly, this rhetoric is in itself a sick attitude that fractures the essential unity of the conservative coalition.

The foundation of the Republican and conservative movement has historically been a pillar of defense for so-called fundamental freedoms, the first of which is the liberal freedom of conscience and worship. Levin’s attack, therefore, is a blow to the very table that questions the principles uniting American patriots. Millions of practicing Catholics, many of them key voters in decisive states, are men and women of family, defenders of life from conception and of the traditional values that Levin himself often praises. Attacking them for their devotional practices is a dangerous politicization of faith that only serves the interests of the secular left, whose goal is to marginalize true religion from the public sphere.

It is disappointing that these comments come from such an influential media figure on the right. Levin, known for his staunch defense of the Constitution, seems to forget that the First Amendment protects the free exercise of religion (without exception). By stigmatizing the prayer of the Rosary—a centuries-old practice of meditation on the mysteries of Christ’s life—a dangerous line is crossed. As Kelly pointed out, this type of ad hominem attack, which questions the sanity of believers for their rites, is not appropriate and represents a divisive tactic that weakens from within the opposition to the true common enemy: radical progressivism and its anti-religious agenda.

This incident highlights a growing and worrying trend within some circles where the loyalty of Catholics is suspected, a rhetoric that recalls old prejudices. The veiled accusation of antisemitism for holding a rosary is particularly offensive and entirely unfounded. Accusing lay faithful of hatred for practicing their devotion is not only false but a slander that sows unnecessary distrust among natural allied communities in the defense of Christian civilization.
