A «civil war» has broken out within the conservative movement, particularly in the United States. This became evident recently during AM Fest, where a tribute was paid to Charlie Kirk. The event exposed the existence of two distinct trends within the movement.
On one side are those seen as loyal to the MAGA movement, which promotes an America First agenda. On the other are those accused of submitting to an agenda that prioritizes other nations, one in particular.
This division was highlighted when Ben Shapiro criticized what he described as a lack of sufficient denunciation of figures such as Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson, and even Megyn Kelly, who is considered somewhat more moderate. Those figures pushed back against the accusations.
In response, Steve Bannon, one of those targeted, reminded audiences that Ben Shapiro was not pro-Trump in the past and had instead adopted a more moderate stance. He argued that this history undermines Shapiro’s current demands for loyalty.
