It is extremely rare for ICE agents to have to fire their weapons while on duty, but the agency says they had to do so yesterday after two criminal illegal aliens allegedly tried to ram them with a vehicle during an attempted arrest. This all happened yesterday in the Colorado Springs area after agents from ICE’s Denver field office were reportedly targeting illegal aliens at a construction site.
Following the attempted vehicle ramming, ICE says one of its agents fired at the suspects in self-defense, but they fled in their vehicle, which was later abandoned. They are now fugitives, and a manhunt is currently underway to find them as we speak.
ICE says no injuries were reported and released the following statement in part: Two criminal aliens attempted to use a vehicle to assault ICE officers during a targeted enforcement operation in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on July 31.
As a result of their violent actions, and to protect officers and agents on the scene, one officer discharged three rounds at the vehicle. The subjects fled and later abandoned the vehicle. Authorities are currently searching for the fugitives.
The surrounding area was briefly placed under a shelter-in-place order during the manhunt, with one local resident saying they support immigration—but only if it’s legal.
“I’m against immigration when it’s not legal. You know, welcome to people who come to bring their skills, talents, and seek opportunity here, but you have to do it the right way.”
ICE now reports that attacks against its agents have skyrocketed by an astonishing 830% compared to the same period last year, and the agency attributes this to what it says is the near-constant lying and demonization of ICE by politicians on an almost daily basis.
