Cracker Barrel has cut ties with the San Francisco-based consultancy Prophet, responsible for the failed rebranding that sparked a nationwide avalanche of criticism.

The Southern chain, a symbol of American authenticity, ended the partnership following backlash over a minimalist logo and restaurant designs that erased its traditional essence, such as the iconic «Uncle Herschel.»

This represents another concession to the voice of customers, aligned with advice from President Trump.

The scandal erupted in August 2025, when Cracker Barrel unveiled a logo without the «Old Timer» and modern remodels that fans branded as «soulless» and disconnected from Southern roots.

The stock value plummeted by more than $140 million, with boycotts driven by conservatives who accused CEO Julie Felss Masino of yielding to DEI agendas.

Prophet, hired in March to «preserve the heritage» while modernizing, had committed $4 million to DEI initiatives, including racial recruitment and pro bono work for social justice.

President Trump intervened decisively on Truth Social: «Cracker Barrel should go back to the old logo, admit a mistake based on customer response (the ultimate poll), and run the company better than ever.»

In a viral video racking up millions of views on YouTube, conservative comedian Chad Prather dismantles Cracker Barrel’s «woke» rebranding with biting humor, mocking how a San Francisco firm tried to turn a Southern icon into a «decaf hipster chain.»

Meanwhile, Cracker Barrel completed an organizational restructuring, renewing leadership to focus on customer service and distance itself from progressive influences. The company also removed «inclusion» content from its website, deleting references to LGBTQ+ groups and DEI, in response to the boycott.

This case illustrates the failure of leftist agendas in American companies: Cracker Barrel, with prior ties to HRC and pronoun training, lost ground by prioritizing the «modern» over tradition.

Prophet has not commented on the split. The split with Prophet marks a conservative victory. In a country fed up with «woke,» brands that listen to their traditional base thrive, while progressive consultants on the West Coast pay the price.
