In History, generally, there are no final points, although our headline might seem like the conclusion of what has happened during the last two years, after that terrifying attack on October 7 against Israel, and the whole world because people from about 42 different nationalities died and were kidnapped.
Since that October 7 in the Middle East, the four horsemen of the apocalypse were unleashed, and a series of conflict synergies were generated at all levels, both global, regional, and local, focused on that region.
One of the poles of attraction, or rather repulsion, of those conflicts, one of the centers, of one of the sides is the theocratic and Islamist state of the Ayatollahs’ Iran; first at a global level as an ally of Xi Jinping’s China and Vladimir Putin’s Russia, being one of the levers that this block of autocrats and central-continental regimes uses against what is the economic-capitalist and Western block, represented by Uncle Sam and its partner, although sometimes reluctantly, which is the European Union of Ursula von der Leyen.
On the other hand, also at a regional level, there is the confrontation, in addition to between Sunnis and Shiites, the two branches of Islam, between the Islamic world and the Jewish world. Which began at the same moment of the United Nations Resolution 181 of 1947, in which the creation of the Jewish State and the creation of the Palestinian State were decided, this UN decision was accepted by the Hebrew side but rejected by the Muslims.
Since that moment, all or a large majority of Muslim countries adopted the position of a “Palestine free from the river to the sea”, that is, the expulsion of the Hebrews to the sea, will that be a genocidal will? Since then, it has been a succession of continuous wars and conflicts, in which Israel has been coming out victorious, expanding its space of sovereignty and security at the expense of those who wanted to destroy it, as well as it has been increasing its allies in the area, or at least it has increased the neutrality of various Islamic countries.
Before that 7-O, thanks to the foreign policy developed during Donald Trump’s first term, with his son-in-law Jared Kushner, neutrality was being achieved, at least, if not an alliance of some Muslim countries with respect to Israel, through the Abraham Accords.
It had achieved the recognition of several countries in Africa and the Persian Gulf, after the recognition of Jordan in 1994 and Egypt in 1979, and was about to achieve the recognition of Saudi Arabia, something that its enemy Iran could not tolerate, since it is the country that hosts the sacred places of Islam, Mecca and Medina.
Then hell was unleashed, the 7-O, with that criminal attack, the largest that Israel has suffered in terms of casualties in a single day, of which the two years have just been commemorated, and which caused rapes, murders, tortures, kidnappings by that terrorist organization, supported by Iran, called Hamas, and from that date, Israel suffers attacks from numerous fronts, in addition to Gaza.
On its northern border by Hezbollah from Lebanon, also from within in the West Bank, which for Israel or the Bible is Judea and Samaria, a high degree of subversion and revolts occurred, also attacks with drones and rockets were launched from Iraq with its Shiite militias; from Syria where Hezbollah also operated, Israel was also attacked; of course we do not forget the attacks by the Houthi groups of Yemen against Israel and interrupting maritime navigation in the Bab al-Mandab strait, and finally the massive attack with missiles and drones from Iran; those are the so-called seven fronts that Israel has faced in these last 2 years.
To each of those attacks, Israel was countering with a proportional deterrence strategy, that is, if deterrence is based on discouraging my potential enemy from attacking me because I can do the same damage to him that he can do to me, when the enemy is 100 times larger or more numerous than me, I have to return the attack 100 times stronger, to maintain the principle of proportionality of legitimate defense.
It is thus how it was ending each of those enemies, with Hezbollah, a proxy (branch) of Iran, the leadership was eliminated with surgical air attacks and the command structure was eliminated with the famous operation of beeper and walkie-talkie explosions, in addition to attacking its weapons depots and financial structure, this affected Syria, where this Shiite group was also based, and which impacted and helped the fall of Bashar al-Assad.
The Iraqi militias ceased their attacks, deterred after the response suffered by Iran, in which this country was humiliated, by the Israeli air and strategic counteroffensive, in which its infrastructures and its nuclear program (as well as its leaders) were subject to a high level of destruction, finished off by the American attack.
Regarding the Houthis, the attacks and counterattacks with the Yemenis continue on occasions, although with a very low level of intensity (they have retreated in their attempts to destroy Israel), the disturbances in the West Bank-Judea-Samaria are also more or less controlled and peace in Gaza tries to be maintained.
Therefore, as you can see, all those groups allied with Iran, including the Persian country, which exerted great operational (and terror) initiative throughout the Theater of Operations of the Middle East, and which constituted the so-called axis of resistance, have been neutralized… for the moment; therefore, it will be necessary to continue dealing with the region, since there are other challenges, collaborating with allies so that it does not become a concern for our interests again, such as hydrocarbons, a basic resource for our way of life, despite the Agenda 2030, as well as the maritime routes that pass through that region, through which our trade ergo wealth flows.
