roger-stone-confesses-that-he-delivered-a-letter-from-juan-orlando-hernndez-to-trump-and-3-hours-later-the-full-pardon-arrived-for-the-honduran-former-president

Roger Stone, the veteran conservative strategist and loyal advisor to Donald Trump, has publicly revealed how he facilitated the presidential pardon for the former president of Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernández (JOH).

I didn’t receive a single penny. I supported a presidential pardon for Juan Orlando Hernández as an act of mercy and justice. JOH was convicted based on the testimony of convicted drug traffickers whom he himself had prosecuted and who were released from prison in exchange for lying in their statements about him. Case closed.

This act, executed in December 2025, freed Hernández after little more than a year in the federal prison of Hazelton, Pennsylvania, where he was serving a 45-year sentence imposed in March 2024 for charges of drug trafficking and arms trafficking.

Stone, who was also pardoned by Trump in 2020 after a conviction that he describes as a similar «witch hunt,» acted without receiving a single cent, driven by a sense of mercy and fairness that contrasts with the hypocrisy of progressive regimes.

The connection between Stone and Hernández dates back to the latter’s presidency (2014-2022), a period in which the Honduran leader frequently traveled to the United States to deliver detailed reports on anti-drug efforts, earning explicit praise from Trump in 2019: «We are stopping drug trafficking at an unprecedented level.»

Stone, upon learning of Hernández’s situation, received a four-page letter from the former president, in which he presented himself as a victim of «political persecution» orchestrated by the Biden-Harris Department of Justice.

Three hours after delivering it to Trump, the president announced the full and complete pardon, allowing Hernández’s immediate release and his return to Honduras just before the legislative elections, where the National Party seeks to counter the dominance of the leftist LIBRE.

What makes this pardon a triumph of true justice is the fragility of the original conviction: based entirely on testimonies from convicted drug traffickers, such as Carlos «Negro» Lobo –extradited in 2014 for transporting more than 450 kilos of cocaine– and Devis Leonel Rivera Maradiaga, leader of the «Cachiros» responsible for 78 murders.

Both received preferential treatment from the DEA in exchange for testifying against Hernández, despite their evident vengeful motivations and conflicts of interest.

Stone sums it up bluntly: «I supported a presidential pardon for Juan Orlando Hernández as an act of mercy and justice. JOH was convicted based on the testimony of convicted drug traffickers whom he himself had prosecuted and who were released from prison in exchange for lying in their statements about him. Case closed.»

Here is why the pardon of Honduran former president Juan Orlando Hernández by President Donald Trump was both correct and just.

This revelation exposes how the left, allied with figures like the current president Xiomara Castro –whose extradition of Hernández she facilitated and who has been linked to cartels by independent reports–, used the U.S. judicial system to bring down a conservative ally in the fight against narco.

We had previously reported it in Gateway Hispanic, where we analyzed how this pardon represents a checkmate to the «Cartel of the Suns» and the fall of leftist networks in Hispanic America. Hernández, for his part, publicly thanked Stone and Trump on social media, while his wife Ana García Carías highlighted the advisor’s role in the intercession.

This episode not only vindicates a leader who actively collaborated with Washington in drug interdiction –facilitating the capture of capos like «El Chapo» Guzmán–, but also reaffirms Trump’s commitment to truth above the narratives fabricated by the global left.

In a world where the real traffickers walk free thanks to dubious deals, the pardon to JOH is a reminder that true mercy corrects injustices, not perpetuates them.
