Harmeet Dhillon, assistant attorney for civil rights, stated that after reviewing the video published by Don Lemon himself regarding his conduct, it became clear that there were solid grounds to move forward with charges based on the facts and conspiracy. She explained that the content released by Lemon was key to supporting the case from the outset.
Dhillon noted that her office acted swiftly, sending prosecutors to the field, taking sworn statements, and gathering evidence that reinforced what had already been corroborated through Don Lemon’s own testimony, public statements, and admissions against his own interest in his videos.
Finally, she said that the authorities have aggressively pursued the appropriate legal proceedings and that the case will be taken “to the ends of the Earth.”
