Kristi Noem justifies expansion of migration restrictions
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem stated that the list of countries subject to travel restrictions now exceeds 30, in accordance with President Donald Trump’s directives. According to Noem, the administration continues evaluating which nations pose risks due to governmental instability or an inability to properly verify the identity of their citizens.
“We should not allow people from those countries to come to the United States if they cannot guarantee security and cooperation in the vetting process,” she said. Her remarks reinforce the Trump administration’s stance of prioritizing national security through stricter immigration controls.
