President Donald Trump dances at Malaysian arrival ceremony

On October 26, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Malaysia to attend the 47th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur. Upon his arrival, he was welcomed with a ceremony that included a red carpet, U.S. and Malaysian flags, and a traditional dance performance. Trump joined the local performers, performing his signature dance moves, known as the «Trump Dance,» which included arm movements to the rhythm of the song «Y.M.C.A.» by the Village People.

The White House promoted the moment on social media as «TRUMP DANCE — MALAYSIA EDITION.» Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim participated in the ceremony and accompanied Trump on a ride in his presidential limousine, «The Beast,» breaking the usual protocol.

This event marked the start of a five-day Asian tour that included meetings with leaders from Japan, China, and a potential meeting with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un. Additionally, Trump oversaw the signing of a peace agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, mediated by the U.S., aimed at ending a border conflict that had displaced hundreds of thousands of people.
