Suspect in killing of missing Hialeah man found in recycling bin arrested in Mexico (VIDEO)

Authorities confirmed the arrest in Mexico of Alfredo Carballo González, 32, accused of killing a Hialeah man who had been reported missing and whose body was later found inside a recycling container. The suspect was extradited to the United States and faces charges of second-degree murder.

According to investigators, the victim was identified as 37-year-old Daylon Fleytas González, who was allegedly killed in August of last year. After the crime, Carballo reportedly fled the country with his girlfriend and their baby in an attempt to evade authorities.

Investigators revealed that Carballo’s partner was arrested last year in connection with the case, though further details about her involvement have not been disclosed. The discovery of the body in a recycling container shocked the Hialeah community and accelerated the investigation, which ultimately led to locating the main suspect outside the country.

Alfredo Carballo González is currently in the custody of U.S. authorities and, in addition to the murder charges, is also subject to an immigration hold. Officials stated that the case remains open as investigators determine any additional responsibility and move forward with the judicial process.

The arrest ends months of an international manhunt and underscores the cooperation between U.S. and Mexican authorities in cases involving serious crimes and fugitives who cross borders to evade justice.
