Trump announces cuts to sanctuary cities and toughens his immigration policy (VIDEO)

President Donald Trump stated that his administration will issue 90-day notices to states such as California as part of a new strategy to address the immigration crisis. He said no country can sustain the massive arrival of people and cover the costs of education, healthcare, and public services without affecting its stability.

Trump argued that among those entering the country are criminals, including murderers, drug traffickers, and individuals released from prisons and mental institutions. He said this situation fuels crime and fraud, harming American citizens.

As a concrete measure, he announced that starting February 1, the federal government will stop sending funds to cities and states that maintain “sanctuary city” policies. He indicated that these jurisdictions protect criminals and will not receive federal resources as long as they continue these practices.

The president presented these actions as part of his law-and-order policy and his commitment to prioritizing the security and interests of the American people.
