In recent remarks, President Donald J. Trump expressed deep concern over what he called Israel’s disproportionate response to a minor incident that, in his view, did not justify breaking the agreement that had been reached.
“Israel didn’t need to go out now,” Trump stated seriously. He was referring to the launch of a rocket that reportedly missed its target and was fired after the agreed time limit. According to Trump, this isolated act did not constitute a substantial breach and therefore did not warrant the immediate military response that Israel carried out.
The president also criticized the fact that Israel acted with force immediately after the deal was signed: “I didn’t like that Israel unloaded with such intensity right after the agreement. It wasn’t necessary.” In his opinion, these types of decisions undermine stability and increase the risk of unnecessary escalation.
“Leaders need to calm down,” Trump added, emphasizing that impulsive actions damage diplomatic efforts. According to him, such responses only fuel the cycle of violence and weaken Israel’s credibility as a strategic partner in sensitive times.
Trump also questioned the Israeli government’s claim that the agreement had been violated by the launch of a single rocket that “didn’t even land anywhere.” For the president, that interpretation is exaggerated and casts doubt on Israel’s commitment to the agreed terms.
With these words, Trump sends a clear message: the United States will continue to support its allies, but it will also demand responsibility, proportionality, and strategic maturity. And in this case, he makes it clear that Israel was wrong in both timing and approach.
