Trump Confident in a Quick Resolution to the Conflict in Europe: “We Have a Very Good Chance to End the War”
President Donald Trump expressed optimism about the possibility of ending the conflict in Europe, noting that his administration is working toward a swift resolution if flexibility is shown by the other side.
“I think we have a chance to end the war quickly if flexibility is shown,” Trump said, emphasizing that the United States is not losing lives or spending money in this effort, since “we’re being paid for the ammunition, the missiles, and everything else we’re sending to NATO.”
The president also highlighted the recent agreements reached with the European Union and NATO, calling them “very fair” and noting that both are contributing financially. “We’re not in this for any other reason. We’re here to save thousands of lives every week,” he said.
Trump concluded by reiterating his confidence in the course of the negotiations: “I think we have a very good chance of bringing this war to an end.”
