Trump Anticipates Signing a New Trade Deal with China “Very Soon”
President Donald Trump said that the United States and China are close to finalizing a new trade agreement, noting that there are no longer “too many major obstacles” to its signing.
“I think very soon,” Trump stated. “We have a deal, and from now on, we’ll renegotiate it every year, but I believe it will continue for a long time — well beyond the year. We’ll renegotiate it at the end of the year.”
The president emphasized that the new understanding aims to ensure stability and lasting benefits for both economies, with an annual review mechanism allowing the agreement to be adjusted according to each side’s needs.
